KL shares remain lower at mid-morning

Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained lower at mid-morning today as heavyweight stocks came under persistent selling pressure, dealers said.

At 11am, the FBM KLCI fell 7.29 points or 0.5 per cent to 1,455.83.

The Finance Index fell 47.77 points to 13,011.9, the Plantation Index shed 24.89 points to 7,872.31 and the Industrial Index fell 14.32 points to 2,632.49.

The FBM Emas Index lost 35.08 points to 9,990.87, the FBM Mid 70 Index added 17.5 points to 11,013.81 and the FBM ACE Index declined 18.62 points to 4,133.24.

Losers led gainers by 298 to 158 while 269 counters traded unchanged. Turnover stood at 498.4 lots worth RM325.12 million.

KFC-CB gained 13.5 sen to 20 sen and Kulim-CB rose 12.5 sen to 20.5 sen. MBSB-CA gained 3.5 sen to 18 sen.

Among heavyweights, Maybank lost 3.0 sen to RM8.22, Sime Darby was flat at RM8.94 but CIMB rose 2.0 sen to RM6.87. -- Bernama
