KFC, QSR and Kulim jump on buyout offer

KFC Holdings Bhd, a fast-food restaurant chain operator, and its parent QSR Brands Bhd jumped in Kuala Lumpur trading after receiving buyout offers from Johor Corp and CVC Capital Partners Ltd.

KFC surged 12 per cent to RM3.81 at 9:10 a.m. local time, set for its steepest increase since Nov 13, 2007. QSR advanced 8.5 per cent to RM6.51 ringgit, its largest gain since Nov 26, 2010. Kulim Malaysia Bhd, QSR’s biggest shareholder, climbed 7.1 per cent to RM3.95, set for its biggest increase since Nov. 8, 2010. -- Bloomeberg
