Panasonic launches eco-friendly air-conds

KUALA LUMPUR: Panasonic Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a market leader in electrical and electronic products, has introduced 10 new air-conditioner models under the ECONAVI series with sunlight detection feature.

This new feature offers energy savings of up to 50 per cent for inverter models and 35 per cent for deluxe non-inverter models as it is able to detect changes in sunlight intensity in the room to reduce energy wasted under less sunlight conditions.

The ECONAVI series are also equipped with the existing intelligent and ecologically-sound feature that helps control airflow volume and room temperature by self-detecting human presence and level of activity, and self-adjusting its cooling power to reduce energy wastage.

Panasonic managing director Jeff Lee said the new models are in line with the company's aim to become the No. 1 green innovation company in the electronics industry by 2018.

Lee said he is confident that the eco-friendly energy saving products will appeal customers, enhancing its market leader position.

Marketing director Harry Sasaki said it is looking at selling 150,000 of the new models in the next one year.

The new air-conditioners are priced between RM1,288 and RM3,638.
